Trilium Foundation for Natural Living was using a tape backup system
to backup their data. They would check the tape logs and look at the
restore files and it looked like everything was backing up fine. One
day their Quickbooks data file was missing and AMS Technology was called
in to find or restore the file from the backup. After not finding the
file we went to the tape backup, found the file and proceeded to restore,
but about 87% into the restore it failed and the data file was lost. We
are now in the process of switching them to an automated off-site backup
solution.
